As caregivers, we take care of others. This is what we do, and we are good at it. We make sure our patients take their medication, have good nutrition, and get help with their activities of daily living.
What we sometimes forget, however, is to take care of ourselves.
Today, we have an important tip for all our fellow caregivers: consider seeing your doctor for a checkup. Even if nothing is bothering you at the moment, your doctor may have some preventive care to do for you, as well as have some personalized recommendations on how you can stay healthy.
We can only do the best job for our patients when we ourselves are healthy, energetic and optimistic. Here's to caregivers' health!
